Balance your mind, your body & your soul

Welcome to Eternal Balance Reflexology in Chelmsford, Essex CM2; Reflexology for health, relaxation and renewal.

Welcome to Eternal Balance

And thank you for visiting my website.

My name is Amie and I am the founder and primary Reflexologist of Eternal Balance Reflexology which is a holistic therapy business based in Chelmsford. I discovered Reflexology at a particularly stressful time in my life and found that it really helped me cope with not only the physical but also the emotional symptoms I was experiencing, a short time after this I decided I wanted to be able to offer the same help to others that I had experienced myself.

I completed my training at The London School of Reflexology where I gained an ITEC level3 Diploma in reflexology and qualified in Advanced Facial Reflexology. I am a member of the Association of Reflexologists and fully insured. I am dedicated to helping my clients gain the most on their journey towards improved health and wellbeing and restoring the balance in their lives.

I take a holistic approach to health and believe that huge benefits can be gained from small but determined changes, Reflexology plays a part in this by stimulating the body's own healing mechanisms and aiding the removal of toxins. The treatments I offer are foot reflexology, Bergman method facial reflexology and hand reflexology.

All Reflexology treatments are deeply therapeutic, when receiving a Bergman method facial reflexology treatment there is the added bonus of the face feeling and looking rejuvenated and youthful. I only use natural organic products for all treatments and make every effort to keep the environmental impact of my business to a minimum.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a deeply relaxing stress relieving therapy the roots of which date back thousands of years, a similar form of foot therapy was used in both ancient China and Egypt as depicted in the tomb of Ankmahor dating back to 2500bc.

The theory behind Reflexology is that the organs, glands and structures of the body are connected to corresponding reflexes on the feet, face and hands through. By applying gentle pressure with the hands a reflexologist can detect imbalances and help to restore the flow of energy in the body by massaging these reflexes and restoring homeostasis. Reflexology stimulates the body's natural healing process, boosts the immune system and induces a deep state of relaxation balancing the mind, body and soul.

Reflexology is a holistic treatment that is suitable for the whole family and can benefit both young and old, it can be very effective in supporting the symptoms of a wide range of conditions. Reflexology does not diagnose or cure and as a complementary therapy should not be used to replace conventional medicine but to work alongside it.

The Benefits of Reflexology

Relaxation

Reflexology induces a deep state of relaxation, it relieves tension in the body which in turn aids circulation allowing vital nutrients and oxygen to move freely around the body, aiding the removal of toxins and restoring equilibrium.

Health

Reflexology is very beneficial as part of a healthy lifestyle, it helps reduce stress levels and can be used to manage the symptoms of a variety of conditions. Whilst it is not a cure Reflexology has a part to play in supporting health and wellbeing.

Balance

Reflexology positively supports wellbeing and the body's natural balance, leaving you with a feeling of peace and harmony. Life today is fast moving and making time and space to reconnect with yourself is vital to maintaining balance.

What can Reflexology help with?

There are a number of conditions that can be supported through Reflexology, the symptoms you can experience whilst dealing with both common and chronic conditions can have a massive effect on your wellbeing. Reflexology has been found to help with the symptoms of many conditions such as stress, anxiety and depression to insomnia, chronic fatigue and inflammatory conditions to name a few. Whilst reflexology cannot diagnose or cure it can be beneficial in helping balance the systems of your body by inducing deep relaxation, relieving tension and aiding the removal of toxins,

Frequently asked questions

How many treatments will I need?

Everyone is different and the response to Reflexology can be immediate or sometimes take longer than one appointment, but often benefits can be seen after 4-5 sessions. Regular weekly treatments are best for the body properly beginning the self-healing process, and following an initial consultation I will suggest the number of Reflexology sessions I think we should undertake.

What happens in a treatment? Will I have to undress?

Reflexology is performed entirely on the feet, ankles or face, so the most you’ll have to do is take off your socks and roll up your trousers! During the treatment the client lies on their back on a reclining chair, supported by pillows and covered with a soft blanket to keep them warm.

And don’t worry - reflexology doesn't tickle! Many clients come to me with ticklish feet or worried about their feet being touched, but find they can relax and enjoy the benefits of Reflexology.

Does Reflexology hurt?

You might find some areas feel sensitive to the touch, but Reflexology does not involve hard pressing in the way something like a sports massage might. As a therapist I will be aware of the status of your feet, noticing how they feel, the temperature and colour. All these things play a part in understanding which areas of your body - as reflected through your feet - require a bit more care and attention.

Can you diagnose health problems?

Reflexologists cannot claim to diagnose or cure, but during a treatment we get 'feedback' as to which parts of the body are working well and which are not. Sometimes Reflexology will highlight a specific area which is struggling or working hard to maintain your wellbeing; if a particular reflex point shows this kind of reaction I'll discuss it with you at the end of the session.

Should I keep on having Reflexology?

Not necessarily, but after an initial course of treatment many people choose to check in monthly for a top-up, to help maintain their general wellbeing, or as a scheduled 'de-stress'. Other clients will get back in touch if they start feeling aches and pains, arranging treatments as and when they need them.
